Virtual Meetups

If you're not near any physical meetups, you can still attend virtual meetups. These are usually done over Google Hangouts, Zoom, or something similar. While virtual meetups tend to be better than async discussions in a Slack channel, I want to be clear: virtual meetups are not as good as in-person meetups.

But virtual is better than nothing. You'll still get to listen to talks and meet folks, but the connections won't be as powerful as they would be face-to-face. If you have the option to go to a physical meetup, do that instead.
